Freight Elevator
1000 – 2000+ kg
Edessa Asansör has been manufacturing freight elevators at its Istanbul Istanbul facilities since 1994, with capacities of 1000, 1600, 2000 kg and above for factories, warehouses and shopping malls. In reference projects these capacities go much higher: systems of 10,000 kg were installed at the Doğuş Otomotiv Şekerpınar facilities and at Eren Holding – Modern Karton, 8,500 kg at the Tadım food factory and 8,000 kg at Maxion İnci Wheel Industry. Durable steel construction and advanced safety systems form the basis of uninterrupted operation even at high duty cycles.
When selecting a freight elevator, the drive type and structural conditions matter as much as capacity. Alongside electric and hydraulic drive systems, Edessa also delivers machine-room-less (MRL) solutions; the 4,000 kg MRL freight elevator at the Tashkent Congress Center and the 3,500 kg MRL unit at Pulver Kimya are examples. Custom-dimension engineering for shallow pits and challenging structural environments also makes it possible to add a freight elevator to an existing facility. Commissioning four independent lines at Maya Tekstil and five elevators of different capacities in a single project at the Tadım factory demonstrates proven multi-unit installation experience.
In operations running 24/7, such as the Amazon logistics center, elevator downtime means direct business loss; that is why, after installation and commissioning, Edessa takes responsibility for system continuity with periodic maintenance and 24/7 technical support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What affects freight elevator prices?
The main factors are load capacity, the number of stops and travel distance, the drive type (electric, hydraulic or machine-room-less), cabin dimensions and door configuration, and the building's structural conditions. Two projects of the same capacity can differ in cost depending on the shaft situation and usage intensity; the final price is set in a quote prepared after a free site survey.
Up to what capacity do you manufacture freight elevators?
Standard production covers capacities of 1000, 1600, 2000 kg and above. In reference projects, 10,000 kg systems were installed for Doğuş Otomotiv Şekerpınar and Eren Holding – Modern Karton, and 8,500 kg for Tadım; when requirements reach these levels, project-specific engineering is applied.
Should I choose hydraulic or electric?
The choice depends on the number of floors, frequency of use and structural conditions. Hydraulic systems are advantageous in low-rise facilities with structural constraints because they do not require a machine room; electric systems excel on high-traffic, long-travel lines. Both alternatives are presented comparatively during the site survey.
Can a freight elevator be added to an existing factory?
Yes. Edessa has been developing custom-dimension solutions for shallow pits and challenging structural environments since 1994; in operating facilities, the work is planned so as not to disrupt production. Feasibility is confirmed with an on-site survey.
