Passenger Elevator
240 – 1600 kg · 3–21 persons
Edessa Asansör has been designing and manufacturing passenger elevators at its Istanbul Istanbul facilities since 1994, with capacities of 240–1000 kg for residential buildings and 630–1600 kg for hotels, hospitals and business centers. Carrying 3 to 21 persons, these systems put comfort, quiet operation and ease of use first. A reference portfolio of more than 3,000 projects — including over 1,000 residential buildings and more than 150 hotels and holiday resorts — is the tangible result of long experience in matching the right capacity to the traffic and usage needs of different building types.
What sets Edessa apart shows in projects that do not fit standard dimensions: buildings with a shallow pit and low headroom, renovation works where an elevator is added to an existing building, and machine-room-less (MRL) applications all receive project-specific solutions. The 1,250 kg and 630 kg machine-room-less passenger elevators at the Pulver Kimya plant and the installation integrated into the historic fabric of Elite World Hotel Taksim are built examples of this approach. Cabin finishes are also tailored to the project; in a private villa in Baku, the cabin was clad entirely in natural wood.
From sales and technical consultancy to engineering design, and from installation and commissioning to after-sales service, the entire process is managed from a single source. With more than 2,000 maintenance contracts and 24/7 technical support, your elevator is looked after by the same team throughout its service life after delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
What determines the price of a passenger elevator?
The main factors are capacity (kg and number of persons), the number of stops, the drive type (machine room, machine-room-less or hydraulic), cabin finish and door selections, and the building's shaft dimensions and structural conditions. Two elevators of the same capacity can differ in cost depending on the shaft situation and cabin customization; that is why a firm figure is given in a quote prepared after an on-site survey.
Can an elevator be added to an existing building?
Yes. Edessa develops custom-dimension solutions that work even in buildings with a shallow pit and low headroom, and has proven experience in historic building renovations (for example, Elite World Hotel Taksim). Feasibility is confirmed during an on-site survey by examining the shaft and structural conditions.
Which capacity should be chosen for a residential building?
For residential buildings the 240–1000 kg range is usually sufficient, while hotels, hospitals and business centers typically call for the 630–1600 kg range. The right choice depends on the number of floors, the number of apartments or rooms and the expected traffic intensity; this calculation is worked out together during the technical consultancy stage.
Do you provide maintenance after installation?
Yes. Edessa Asansör provides periodic maintenance and 24/7 technical support under more than 2,000 maintenance contracts. Having the installation team also handle maintenance speeds up fault diagnosis and response.
